Influences

Influences may come from the strangest of places, but they help create something magnificent. This piece was created by combining elements from the works of fashion designer Kyemah McEntyre, children’s book illustrator R. Gregory Christie and fashion photographer Tim Walker. The characters designs are inspired by R. Gregory Christie’s art style to provide a simplistic feel that resembles a painting, while the character on the left wears clothing from Tim Walker’s recreation of “Alice in Wonderland” for the Pirelli 2018 Calendar. The character on the right is Kyemah McEntyre wearing the prom dress that she designed as her own prom dress that was inspired by African culture.
